187 posts 路 Joined 2008. #8 路 Aug 22, 2008. If he was to run straight pipes then there would be no factory exhaust. But, I do agree, your car will become really loud if you remove the cat and run straight pipes. Also, you must take into account that an engine needs back pressure to run efficiently.

Normally, I'd agree. But, we are on the third year of the 8th Gen models and they still have major brake problems. Honda knows there is a problem but they keep selling them to unsuspecting customers. I bought my Accord because Honda was known for reliability and the Accord was an established model (mines an '09). Up until now, I didn't realize
I think it鈥檚 an Apple issue though. Many people still complaining about their wireless chargers not working with 12 series. I tried 2 wireless chargers with the same result. I gave in a while back and bought the MagSafe charger and no problem since. Apple still needs a fix. I was just warning potential new owners of the Accord using iPhone 12
pennsylvania, usa. Aug 26, 2015. #14. According to a CRV board, this problem goes back as far as 2008, so Honda has been "working on a fix" for a long time. I assume you are aware of the "workaround" - turn the key but don't start the car, wait a few seconds, turn it back off, then turn key the whole way to start the car.
1824 posts 路 Joined 2008. #2 路 Nov 19, 2009. Most of the issue was V6 AT. The transmission wasn't fed enough oil = overheat = gear blades break off. i4 AT is solid. Cooler is not needed, but wouldn't hurt. Yes. You can use Magnefine or OEM filter. 2013 EX-L Sport V6, MSM/Black. Mods.
The Kirkland battery from Costco is the only battery to decrease in price - by $5. There is a new battery, Plus Start, on the list. 1. Bosch Premium Power 35-640B $90 - still #1 - Pep Boys only. 2. EverStart Maxx-35N (North) $90 - moved up one slot - Walmart only.
Three weeks later one of the tensioner assembly bolts sheared off at the engine block rendering the car with inop alt/ps. Took the car to Honda and they replaced the tensioner (alt/ps) assembly and used new bolts. Two months later the bolt sheared again. Took the car back to Honda who fixed it for free with new assembly and new bolts.
Stock brakes on 8th Gen Accord = :thumbsdow. My 2008 Accord EX-L V6 (5AT) Coupe San Marino Red I am very dissatisfied with Honda's handling of this problem.
